We’re Toby and Anna, a husband-and-wife team creating natural, modern portraits for families, newborns, maternity and all the little moments. Our studio is a calm, cosy space designed with parents and small humans in mind. Somewhere you can slow down, breathe, and actually enjoy the experience.
Here, everything is relaxed and unrushed. We take our time, chat through ideas, and make sure everyone feels comfortable (fed, settled, and happy) before we even pick up the camera. Whether it’s your baby’s first days, a family milestone, or simply a moment you never want to forget, we’re here to capture it with warmth, patience, and genuine connection.

About Us
We’re Toby and Anna, a husband-and-wife team behind Lidstone Portraiture.
Photography has been a huge part of our story—long before we ever met. Toby began photographing weddings in 2018 and quickly fell in love with capturing real moments and honest emotion. Over the years, his work has been recognised with multiple awards, placing him among the top 10 photographers in the UK.
In 2020, our paths crossed, and life hasn’t stopped unfolding beautifully since. We married in 2024 and now share our world with three wonderful little humans: Jesse (3), Emmy (1), and Lola (8). They are our joy, our inspiration, and the heart behind everything we do.
As a team and experienced parents ourselves, we bring together Toby’s seasoned eye for storytelling photography and Anna’s passion for connection, organisation, and creating a calm, enjoyable experience for every client. Whether we’re photographing a newborn shoot, a family session, or a milestone moment, our goal is always the same: to create images that feel warm, genuine, and modern - for you to treasure as decades go on.
We believe in making this an experience which is why every shoot is made to ensure there’s enough time to chill, go through any questions and ideas, have a coffee and ensure any small humans are happy/fed and content.

Frequently Asked Questions
SCROLL DOWN
The ideal time to photograph your newborn is within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepier and more easily posed. We recommend booking during pregnancy to secure availability, with the session date adjusted once your baby arrives.
We suggest neutral, soft tones such as creams, beige, greys and pastels. Avoid busy patterns, logos or strong colours. Coordinating rather than matching outfits works best, and we’re always happy to offer styling guidance before your session.
Pets are not permitted in any studio or on-location sessions. This policy is in place to maintain the highest standards of hygiene, safety and comfort, particularly for newborn babies and young children.
Please don’t worry – this is completely normal. We allow plenty of time and work at your baby’s pace. Feeding, cuddling and comforting breaks are always included, and we never rush a newborn session.
Your baby’s safety is my top priority. All newborn poses are done gently and safely, following your baby’s natural movements. I never force a pose, and the studio is kept warm, clean and calm at all times.
Your online gallery will be ready within 2–3 weeks of your session. From there, you can select your included images and purchase additional photographs, prints or albums if desired.
Yes. I provide a carefully curated collection of wraps, blankets, headbands and props for newborn sessions. I recommend keeping styling simple to ensure the focus remains on your baby.
To secure your session, a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due the day before your session date. Bookings can be made via the website or by getting in touch directly.
I understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to reschedule, please let me know as soon as possible. I’m always happy to rearrange due to illness, early or late arrivals, or unforeseen circumstances.
